Adjust pools water pH to between 7.2 & 7.6, Shock, wait 24 hours, algicide and then leave the floating buoy in your pool all winter, not only will it slowly release chlorine, it will also help act as a buffer for ice to expand against if your pool freezes over.

Winterlong is a copper based long-life, slow-release winter algicide. Copper based formulations have the advantage of remaining active and effective for extended periods; even during the mildest of winters, Winterlong should keep pool water clear until spring.
Winterlong can be used on both chlorinated and brominated pools but should not be used on pools using Revacil/Baquacil
This 2 Ltr Treatment should be enough to treat upto 50,000 Litres of pool water.
