Swimming Pool double union ball valves are used to cut off and regulate the water flow rate in your swimming pools pipework filtration system.
For example, if you are running a heater or heat pump you would fit a double union valve just before and after this equipment to allow for easy isolation / draining, or you could use a number of these double unioun ball valves before this equipment to regulate/reduce your swimming pools flow rate before passing through this type of equipment depending on whether the manufacturers specification requires a reduced flowrate than what your filtration pump generates.
See second image for an example of how these double union valves might be used in a typical pool filtration pipework system when fitting a heat pump, this way you can easily isolate and drain the heat pump for winterisation.
This double union ball valve is for 1.5inch ABS pipwork.
